The beef is on! Sir Wicknell Chivayo has responded to Winky D’s latest song, Pa Tonaz, where the dancehall legend throws shade at individuals who beg for cars from Mbinga (rich men). In another song from the same EP, Zvatanga, Winky D boldly declares: “Handitengeke nemota car” (I can’t be bought with a car).
Wicknell, who is known for handing out luxury cars to musicians and public figures, wasn’t amused. He dismissed Winky D’s lyrics, claiming the artist was only seeking his attention. He clapped back in a post saying:
“TRUE STORY… He tried to get my attention, but I’ve never offered him anything because he’s a pupp** we opposition . Let them start a GO FUND ME for him, even for a Rolls-Royce Phantom—vaone kuti kana inokwana AQUA inobuda here ( let’s see if they can even afford an Aqua!” )

Social Media Reactions:
The response sparked heated debates, with social media users split. Some backed Winky D, saying money and cars aren’t the only measure of success:
• “Wicknell isn’t the only gate to success. Just because Winky D didn’t get a car from him doesn’t mean he won’t succeed in life.”
• “Winky D has always sung about Zimbabwean issues, this is nothing new. He doesn’t need a car with conditions attached!”
• “Jah Prayzah and Sir Calaz can’t even fart without telling Wicknell first these days but Winky D’s dignity is still intact!”
• “Wicknell is not God—we don’t kneel down to him for blessings.”
Others went further, bringing politics into the mix, saying Wicknell is just ZANU PF’s tool to buy influence:
• “They failed to buy Winky D, now they’re bitter. We don’t want your ZANU PF cars, we want our land back!”
• “ZANU PF is known globally for buying influential people. In Winky D’s case, they failed!”
Gafa Stands His Ground
Despite the shots fired, Winky D remains unfazed. Whether he’s riding a wheelbarrow or a Rolls-Royce, fans believe his message and legacy are worth more than any material gifts. Gafa Life continues!
