The gospel music scene has been rocked by allegations of a crumbling marriage between Mambo Dhuterere and his wife, Dorcas Vambe popularly known as Mai Dhuterere. Reports suggest that the respected gospel singer allegedly abandoned his pregnant wife, leaving her to care for their four children while battling emotional and financial distress.
According to Mai Dhuterere, the trouble started when Mambo Dhuterere began acting distant after discovering she was pregnant. The situation allegedly worsened when he failed to secure a vehicle from businessman Sir Wicknell Chivayo, blaming his wife’s “bad luck” for the fallout.
In a heartbreaking statement to H-Metro, Mai Dhuterere opened up about the emotional toll: “I have been keeping this to myself because of my condition. I don’t want to be depressed and end up losing our unborn child.”
Their marriage, once rooted in love and sacrifice including raising children from previous relationships and investing in property now appears to be falling apart, especially after Mai Dhuterere’s arrest in a US$16,000 fraud case, which reportedly triggered Dhuterere’s exit from the family home.
This scandal exposes the cracks in what was once considered a solid gospel union, raising questions about support, loyalty, and the mental health toll of relationship breakdowns in the public eye.
