The City of Harare has issued an official statement regarding the viral video of controversial socialite Namatai “Malloti” Bhobho breaking a car clamp and speeding off in Harare’s CBD. The video shows Malloti’s blue vehicle (registration AGG 7256) moving back and forth until the clamp breaks. A man in civilian clothing is also seen throwing a piece of the broken clamp at the car’s windscreen as it speeds away.
City of Harare Sets the Record Straight
In response to the incident, the City of Harare clarified that:
• The man seen throwing a metal object at the car is not a City Parking official.
• Breaking a clamp affixed by an authorized officer is a criminal offense under the Harare (Clamping and Tow) Bylaw of 2005.
• Clamped vehicles should only be released upon payment of the prescribed fines.
Authorities have now launched an investigation and are seeking to interview Malloti regarding the destruction of property.
Malloti’s Growing Legal Troubles
This latest scandal adds to Malloti’s long list of controversies. Just last year, she was accused of violently attacking her ex-boyfriend Hwinza’s current girlfriend, reportedly forcing her way into the woman’s home with a knife.
Additionally, Malloti allegedly fled South Africa under a cloud of criminal accusations, including fraud and rental evasion. Now, with Harare authorities hunting for her, many are wondering—will she finally face justice, or will she once again slip through the cracks?
